Our therapy horses are carefully selected and trained to meet very specific requirements. They represent many different breeds and sizes. Our horse lease program is designed to benefit the horses, their owners and Mountin’ Hopes’ riders. The lease program relieves Mountin’ Hopes of the burden of providing for horses in the event they can no longer work as a therapeutic horse. When this happens, the horses return to their owners for a second retirement. Donated horses must meet very specific requirements as we assume responsibility for them for the rest of their lives. Mountin’ Hopes has found retirement homes for donated horses as is sometimes necessary.
